THE LUBERON
The Luberon destination is the ideal place to settle down in the Provence Alpes Côte d’Azur region. Two of the most beautiful villages in France (Gordes and Lourmarin), a multitude of villages sometimes perched, sometimes nestled in a landscape of vines, white oaks or olive trees, offer splendid landscapes as far as the eye can see.
The Luberon has its must-sees! Exceptional sites and monuments not to be missed: Sénanque Abbey or Ocres in Roussillon or even the Château de Lourmarin. Stroll along the narrow streets of villages with a typical style like Gordes, to name only the best known. Moments of wonder that you won’t soon forget and will make you taste the Provençal art of living.
SAINT MARTIN DE CASTILLON
Perched village located 15 km from Apt, Saint-Martin-de-Castillon deserves your attention, if only for its incredible view of the Grand Luberon. You will be amazed! You will be seduced by the surrounding nature!
It’s a real festival! As you walk through the center of the village, you will see four chapels, testimonies of the past that you can either visit or admire from the outside. Le Boisset, a hamlet village in Saint Martin de Castillon, has benefited from the renovation of all of its houses while retaining its calm and authenticity.
Le saviez vous ?
The bories are huts built with dry stones, simply placed so that the building forms a nave. The stones are stuck together and the whole thing does not fall. Bories are generally isolated in the Luberon.
They were designed as small temporary agricultural estates, seasonal farms. The dry stone huts were located in the center of exploitable land and contained everything necessary for the farmer’s daily life. You will see them throughout your walks. Don’t miss the Village des Bories in Gordes!
Olivier, Votre Hôte
« Hello, I will be very proud to welcome you to La Cerisaie, our family home that we put at your disposal so that you can live an exceptional and sunny experience in Luberon. This house will suit a family but also couples of friends. »
« You will be able to quickly go to all the major sites and experience this living Luberon from the inside, where everything evokes the roots of man in his land: bories and dry stone walls, imposing bastides, perched villages embedding castles and churches, some won by fame: Lourmarin, Gordes, Manosque, Roussillon…, others less known but just as endearing like Vaugines or Mirabeau, where “Jean de Florette” and “Manon des Sources” were filmed… and many other places to discover. »
